Vocational Workshop

The Gateways Vocational Workshop provides businesses with a comprehensive range of product detail finishing, parts and package assembly.

An important part of the rehabilitation program for mentally ill clients, the Vocational Workshop was established in 1973 to provide job training and work experience in a supervised, quality controlled setting.

Funding is provided by the State of California Department of Mental Health, Office of Forensic Services, and the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. The Vocational Workshop also depends on contracts received through a competitive bidding process.

The primary objective of the program is to help men and women learn to cope with the emotional stress and the rigors of competitive employment thus promoting their self respect and independence. The unskilled and inexperienced become capable of productive employment, while those with experience can hone their skills in a supportive environment.

All production is completed under guidance of experienced supervisors and staff members, in recognition of our customers’ requirements for quality.

Their newly-acquired and applied skills create an important beginning leading toward successful integration into industries where a teamwork perspective is essential. They get paid for their work, some for the first time.

The Gateways Vocational Workshop takes great pride in the growing number of companies utilizing our services, because of our high standards of performance and reliability.

Thanks to the trust and confidence our customers have placed in us since 1973, we process more than $1 million worth of products annually.

Please feel free to speak to one of our representatives to discuss your unique packaging needs.
